Introductory tune – solemn singing of ‘Spirit of the living God’ in harmony.
Teacher conclude his teaching in a class of children.
Teacher – We’ve taught so much already on the Holy Spirit. Now how much do you understand about Him?
1st person – The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Holy Trinity made up of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
2nd person – It is the Holy Spirit that hovers above the waters during the creation of the world. He work with the Father and the Son in all things.
3rd person – The Holy Spirit fill the Blessed Virgin Mary and she conceived Jesus Christ.
4th person – He filled Elizabeth to greet Mary as Blessed among women and her Son blessed too.
5th person – The Holy Spirit moved the Blessed Virgin Mary to say the ‘magnificat’ in the gospel of Luke chapter 1, verses 46-55.
6th person – He descended on Jesus at Jesus’s baptism.
7th person – Jesus promised at His ascension to send the Holy Spirit to His apostles and indeed He came upon them on Pentecost and empowered them to come out of their hiding to proclaim the good news of Christ our Saviour.
8th person – The Holy Spirit strengthens us in the sacrament of confirmation to become soldiers of Christ and confidently proclaim the kingdom of God and His righteousness.
9th person – The Holy Spirit inspires Godly and moral virtues in us. The Godly virtues are Faith, hope and love. And the moral virtues are prudence, justice, fortitude, and temperance
10th person – The Holy Spirit gives us His gifts to enable us live above the values of the world. And there are 7 of these gifts, namely: Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Knowledge, Piety, and the Fear of the Lord.
11th person – The Holy Spirit helps us to bear His fruits when we obey God’s commandments and do good deeds. This fruits are formed in us as our first taste of eternal glory on earth. And they are charity, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, generosity, gentleness, faithfulness, modesty, self-control and chastity.
Teacher – Very good. I’m glad you remember your lessons. Now, I’ll leave you to think about your answers.
Teacher leaves and the children are thoughtful for a while. Then they begin to sing – one person per verse and all chorus. They sing passionately.
